Whispers from the Magical World: The Imprisoned Dragon
3 months ago – Mon, May 18, 2026 at 03:34:13 AM

Hello everyone,

It hasn’t been long since our last update. As our research into otherworldly ingredients and magical abilities deepens, the development team has grown increasingly connected with the magical world where the Cauldron resides. Sometimes, the wind blowing from there brings us some wonderful "whispers"—sometimes conversations, sometimes torn journal pages. We are happy to share the interesting news with all of you. Recently, we copied down a conversation record of a man who called himself a "royal chef"...

The chef seems to be in trouble! However, our recorders have deduced: this living magic cauldron moves on its own. It can avoid obstacles, and when angry, it crashes into furniture. Burnt food is randomly spat out onto the floor, which will cause trouble for the chefs—but this shouldn’t be a problem for the finest chefs, who can precisely gauge the cooking time by the color of the food inside the cauldron!

We suspect there may be even more fascinating information coming from that world. In the meantime, in this world, the Cauldron Keepers are hard at work too. Our cauldrons are on their way to you—and we can't wait for them to cause a little chaos in your kitchen as well.

Progress & Motor Challenge
3 months ago – Thu, May 07, 2026 at 03:37:08 AM

Hello everyone,

First, you can see that our furniture and cauldron samples have been completed. This is a necessary step in the mold production process. We’ve also selected three candidate colors for the furniture, and we’re currently waiting for physical swatches to make a final decision. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them.
Over the past month, we ran into a rather tricky and unexpected issue. During the trial assembly of the cauldron samples, our mold manufacturer and assembly partner told us that the internal space is too cramped, the assembly process is overly time‑consuming, and there are several other concerns — for example, a risk of excessive cable compression. If left unresolved, this could cause problems in mass production.

So we had to take another hard look at the entire internal layout. Other than switching to a smaller motor, we found no better solution. Because the cauldron moves relatively slowly, we need a motor with a high reduction ratio but a small footprint. That seriously limited our options. Fortunately, we found a planetary gear motor that can be customized with the right reduction ratio from the supplier. It costs twice as much as the previous motor, but we need to make this change to ensure product reliability.

All printed materials have been fully laid out, and the manufacturer is now reviewing the files. Here are some examples:
We will continue pushing mass production forward. Stay tuned for more updates next month.

🎉 PM is now open — and we've got some fun stuff to share!
4 months ago – Tue, Apr 07, 2026 at 06:33:41 AM

Hello everyone,

We ran extensive playtests back in March, and we're happy to share that the final gameplay is now set: one core mechanic, plus two additional modes — Family Mode and Versus Mode — to suit different types of players. Our rulesheet has gone through five rounds of polishing, and throughout this process, our goal has always been to make it easy to read and easy to remember. While testing the game, a bunch of fun ideas came to us — so we turned those ideas into some merch:

The character card clips were inspired by a specific moment in the game — there's a mechanic where an order card gets clipped onto you, visible to everyone except yourself. Your teammates know what you're making, but you have to figure it out through chaos. We wanted a clip that felt right for that moment, so we made one. It also works for clipping order cards onto the game board, which keeps everything organized during the busier rounds.
The felt bookmarks double as role cards during gameplay. When a character swap happens, you use them to mark the change — it's a small thing but it makes the moment feel more intentional.
For Versus Bundle backers, we've added secret role cards specifically for that mode. Let's just say not everything is as it seems when you're playing against another team. 👀

We've put a lot of time into making sure the game feels approachable from the first round but has enough depth to keep things interesting the more you play. We think you'll feel that balance when you sit down with it.

One more very important thing: the Pledge Manager is now open, and everyone will be receiving email notifications shortly.

A few notes for your survey:

  • Double-check your shipping address before submitting.
  • Upgrade options are in the add-ons section.
  • Browse the add-ons for merch and game extras.
  • Shipping will be billed separately, closer to when we ship.

Backed via Kickstarter using Sign in with Apple? Apple's privacy settings may have linked your pledge to a private relay email address rather than your actual email. Please reach out to us at [email protected] to confirm which email address you'd like to receive your PM survey at, so we can make sure it reaches you.

Production Status & Next Steps
6 months ago – Thu, Mar 05, 2026 at 02:55:04 AM

Hello everyone,

We hope you’re doing well! Here’s a quick update on where things currently stand with production and a few other developments we’ve been working on.

Production Status
Production is moving forward steadily. The mold design for the furniture has now been finalized, and mold manufacturing is scheduled to begin in March.

As for the Cauldron, we encountered a small issue during the circuit board prototyping phase related to the integration of a trigger switch (used to activate the corresponding cooking light effects). We’re currently adjusting and testing some of the components to ensure everything works as intended. As a result, the Cauldron’s production timeline is running slightly behind schedule, but we’re working hard to catch up as quickly as possible.

Rulesheet Updates
We’ve also decided to revisit the layout of the rulesheet. Although it’s currently only three pages long, it contains a fair amount of information that requires memorization during gameplay. To make it more accessible and easier to learn, we’re reworking the layout and fine-tuning some of the content.

Pledge Manager
The Pledge Manager is set to launch next month! You’ll be able to finalize your pledges and review your orders at that time. We’ll notify everyone via email as soon as it’s live.

In the meantime, if you’ve been playtesting on TTS and have any thoughts, suggestions, or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you!

Tabletop Simulator
7 months ago – Tue, Feb 03, 2026 at 08:32:12 PM

Hi Chefs,

Great news — our playtesting module is now live on Tabletop Simulator (TTS)! You can download and try the game by following the steps below. The current setup features last month’s “Final Round” challenge. Give it a try and see how many points you can score!

How to Access the Game on TTS:

  • Download Tabletop Simulator from Steam.
  • Visit the Workshop on the Tabletop Simulator home page, search for “Cauldron Call”, and click Subscribe.
  • Return to your Desktop, launch Tabletop Simulator, and select “Create”.
  • Go to Objects → Tables → None to remove the default table. This ensures all game components can be placed correctly.
  • Navigate to Games and find Cauldron Call in your Workshop library.
  • Click Additive Load, then Load.
  • Once loaded, you’re ready to brew!

We’ve also created a demo video for this challenge to visually walk you through the core rules. We hope it helps you get into the gameplay even faster!

Production Update:
We’ve finalized the design, structure, appearance, and functionality of the furniture and the Cauldron itself. The mold design and production phase will begin next month.

We’re also in touch with Panda Game Manufacturing regarding the printed components. Compared to the custom molded parts, the printing process is more straightforward and will move along quickly.

We’re pushing hard to keep production on track and get the game into your hands as soon as possible!
